Compulsive Apathy - 12/07/94

Just like gambling
To pass the time away
We are given a job to do
Then find idle chatter too stagnant

We are given an ultimatum
As others show their involvement
To either stick their neck out
Or let others walk all over them

The task is somewhat obscure
And no one ever knows their limit
Or to what extreme they will find
The ultimate way to live

We know a small portion of the world
Controls who we are
There are many of us who are free
That never have challenged their peer

For those who have the ability
To set an example for others to follow
Are found with not a recourse
But to censor

A simple mind is easy to influence
The roads that we have traveled
Will once again be traveled
And no one will wear and tear as
Much as the silent one.
